Unit 10

  1. Review your unit 3 personal assessment of your psychological, physical, and spiritual well-being. Reflect on these areas . How did you score yourself on a scale from 1 to 10 in unit 3? How do you score yourself now? Has the score changed? Why or why not?
I scored pretty low in unit 3 and I still score low now but I think that I have moved up from a 2 to about a 7 now. I still have a few areas that need to be worked on like the stress and emotional parts but other than that I have improved all around. This class has made me look at myself in all different directions and focus on things that matter in life.
  1. Review the goals and activities you set for yourself in each area. Have you made progress toward the goals? Explain.
I have made progess towards my goals. Goals are meant to be reached slowly and I am slowly working my way towards them. It will take time to change and be able to complete my goals but that is the point of a goal. Its a long term effect in life and once you reach them then you set a new standard for yourself on those goals.
  1. Have you implemented the activities you chose for your well-being in each of the three areas? Explain.
The activities I do still do. It is harder for me to find the time to complete all of them but I do still try to complete them on a daily basis but with work, taking care of my son and school, I have very little time to just clean my house. :(
  1. Summarize your personal experience throughout this course. Have you developed improved well-being? What has been rewarding? What has been difficult? How
My personal experience is that I have grown as a person since we have started this term. I have learned how to control and reduce my stress and also how to relax myself. The most rewarding is that I can now manage my depression and my stess. The most difficult is the dealing with so much to do and not enough time to the activities that I am wanting to complete.

Unit 9

I.Introduction:
Why is it important for health and wellness professionals to develop psychologically, spiritually and physically? What areas do you need to develop to achieve the goals you have for yourself?
I think that it is important for health and wellness professionals to develop psychologically, spiritually and physically because you can’t preach to someone and expect them to do something that you as a professional have not become an expert at. You can’t expect a patient to practice mediation if you don’t. If you can’t handle stress then how can you expect someone else to? It’s a lead by example type of world. If you don’t do it why should others? My psychological area is what I need to develop more in depth in order to achieve my goals that I have set for myself.
II.Assessment:
How have you assessed your health in each domain? How do you score your wellness spiritually, physically, and psychologically? I have assessed my health in each domain. My spiritually and physically wellness rank pretty high as far as completing them. My psychological wellness needs a bit of work. It is hard for me to focus on tasks when I have so much going on. My mind wonders a lot especially when I am under a lot of stress with many different tasks.
III.Goal development:
List at least one goal you have for yourself in each area, Physical, Psychological (mental health) and Spiritual.
Physical- My goal is to continue to exercise and make myself healthy and nutrition.
Spiritual- My goal is to continue to learn to love and let all stress go.
Psychological- Continue to exercise and train my brain not to wonder and focus on myself.
IV.Practices for personal health:
What strategies can you implement to foster growth in each of the following domains; Physical, Psychological, and Spiritual. Provide at least two examples of exercises or practices in each domain. Explain how you will implement each example.
Physical- Yoga to help my physical strength and relaxation. Also, going for an evening walk to release stress and continue to keep my body in good shape. I will make a schedule on a calendar with what day I am going to do yoga and what days I am going to go for a walk.

Psychological- I will talk to my friends when something is bothering me and write down my emotions. When I keep things bottled up is when I tend to lose my mind. J I will make a list of what I want to say to my friends of things that happened the day before. This will not only help me remember what I want to tell my friends but it will also help me write down my emotions and how I feel.

Spiritual- Meditation is an exercise that I am going to use to foster growth.  Also, taking myself to a different place with my spirits. Continue to picture myself in a different place to be able to relax. I am going to make time every day to practice these/
V.Commitment:
How will you assess your progress or lack of progress in the next six months? What strategies can you use to assist in maintaining your long-term practices for health and wellness?
I will use this same assessment to track my progress in six months. The strategies that I can use to assist in maintaining my long-term practices are to continue to do the LoveMind exercise and practice the principles of Integral Health.
