unit 7

I have a lot of stress in my life the past few weeks with a new job location to a new city, moving there and trying to get settled and school and finding a new day care and all that jazz!! For me, I have continued to do the meditation exercises and practices but not all of them work for me. My mind travels a lot faster than my body can handle.

The saying "one cannot lead another where one has not gone himself" means that a person that does not believe or experience something cannot teach another person about it. Its kind of like if you have not dealt with the same issue you cannot teach or preach to someone else how to deal with it. As a health proffesional, if you have not dealt with let's say, cancer, you cannot explain or relate to a family member that is dealing with it. For me, I can relate to single full time working and school mommys, easier than someone who is married and has help from a spouse with the children. I believe that if you put your mind to something, no matter what is going on, you CAN do it! I am living proof of that one.

  1. Samie,

First, I agree that if we do put our minds to it, we CAN do it! I am also living proof of that. Second, I am in the middle of relocating to a different state. Things have been so crazy for me, too. The movers came and packed and loaded my furniture to take it to my new home in Sheridan, WY. However, things at my job changed and because of it, I had to remain here in Albuquerque. Wanting to same some money, I chose to remain in my old apartment since I have paid through the end of July. But initially, I was told that the case would be wrapped up in just a couple of days, but that has proven to be untrue. So, I will hopefully be out of here by this Friday! In the mean time, I am sleeping on the floor and doing my schoolwork sitting on the floor after working 12 hours days. It is difficult, but I practice TM and so far I am doing okay.

With this exercise, it came at a perfect time because I was able to absorb my person's wisdom and loving-kindness which helped to envelope me with such happiness and true wholeness. It was truly a beautiful experience.

Anyway, things will settle and you will look back on this and amaze yourself not only with your strength and courage, but your commitment to stay on your path. Also, you may think that the practices are not all working for you. It just may be at this point of your development you are not able to have a full experience. But you are developing and becoming more in your own because you are able to identify what is working and not working for you. Every second that you disconnect with the outside chatter you will gain so much which is why you continue to practice meditation.

I do wish you luck in settling into your new job. You are a remarkable person and I am so honored that you shared your experience with me.

    Later,
    Naomi
